Argh! My June 18th race was cancelled!

Posted on June 5, 2011. Filed under: Exercise | Tags: , |

I was just over at the site for the East Oregonian River Run, figuring it was about time to send in my registration, when I saw that they are no longer having the 1 mile walk race event. There is only a 5K and 15K run now. I was really looking forward to that, sigh. I had been looking forward to it since October, when I found the old site and realized that they normally had a 1 mile walk event. The change in events was made fairly recently, because I had seen the one mile event listed earlier this spring.

All is not lost… there is a one mile walk race event on July 9th at the Caledonian Games in Athena. Maybe I can even talk hubby into coming, though getting him up that early would be a challenge! The games are fun… so I think the energy would be great at this race. I DON’T think I’ll be signing up for the caber toss, however!

Too bad on the race, hope the next one works out!

I’d hoped for three races this summer, but with the first one gone, it looks like I am down to two. There is also Highway To Well (the race I did last year) only it is moved up to late August for this year. They probably felt like they were flirting with the weather holding it in October, though we actually had a nice warm day last year.

Oh, here is a comment linking in to my dieting blog, I don’t think you can get there from my recipe blog.

Get hubs up early and make the next race! :-)
